Another flower

Another lovely plant which is in flower in my garden this week, Fritillaria meleagris commonly known as the Snakes Head Fritillary. The markings have to be seen close-up to believed, they are just wonderful. I have lots of plain white ones too, they must love my clay soil.

Oh you have the dreaded clay soil as well? How I long for my mother's loamy soil ! However there are some benefits and yes we can grow these as well.
